Everyone has a song that when it comes on the radio they either laugh and turn it up, or cringe and change the station as quickly as possible. Phone Calls From Home released an EP, One and Done, on March 17th that is a compilation of seven of exactly these kinds of songs. With their final line up becoming solid last February, this is only the second album of any kind that the band has released. Currently this Cape Cod based band consists of Dace Place (lead vocals, bass), Zack Gowan (guitar, vocals), Jason Vieira (guitar, vocals) and Danny Stockman (drums). This EP takes some of our favorite one hit wonders back in a new, more exciting light.
Right off the bat with the first track, we get Rick Rolled in a more modern rock fashion. “Never Gonna Give You Up” blends the gentler qualities of Dave’s vocals with a good blend of the original song and Phone Calls From Home’s personal flare.
